This is the unforgettable Danny Seward (class of 1966).

But now the pedant rears its ugly head and tongue. What did the author mean by "beam in your eye"?

The pedant will immediately think of Matthew 7:3, in the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus says (were he to speak modern English), "Why do you mention the mote in your brother's eye, when you've got a beam in your own?" Here beam meant something you build a house or boat with.

I mention this only in passing. Excuse me while I drag this big hunk of wood out of my eye.

This appears to be a beach scene.  She appears kind of chilly, he doesn't.
