Sinningia sp. "Ibitioca"

Sinningia sp. "Ibitioca" has multi-lobed tubers with runners.

This tuber does not have multiple lobes.  It sprouted in a paper bag inside a plastic tub -- in other words, in darkness.  The white things are stems, as indicated by the stubby leaf pairs along them.

These two pictures were taken on 13 March 2009, and the tuber was planted the same day.  I removed a few of the runners and planted them; one of them rooted but most rotted.&nsp; (What a difference a letter makes!)  The plant now [August 2009] has three stems.
