Gesneriad Society Convention 2010: Smith on Columneas

James Smith, of Idaho, presented a classification of the genus Columnea, with some new arrangements and discoveries and some open puzzles.

It will be interesting to find out the extent to which Hans Wiehler's analysis (which involved breaking the genus into 5 pieces) will hold up.  That is, will the Wiehler divisions (regardless of whether at the rank of genus or not) hold up entirely or partially or not at all when the analysis is complete.

You can try squinting to read the chart, but a better option is to buy the convention CD from the Gesneriad Society.
