Looks like Rhytidophyllum leucomallon to me.  A plant with great sandpapery leaf texture, but not easy to keep alive.

If you saw the boxed gasteranthus in the show (or the show pictures), you recognize this structure.  You'll have to tell me what's inside, however.  Some kind of paradrymonia?
